Mrs. Henry Meester Old Grundy Resident Died Monday Eve.

Mrs. Henry Meester of Pleasant Valley township, who had been a continuous resident of Grundy county for 63 years, died at her home quite suddenly at 6:30 Monday evening. She was 82 years old. While she had been suffering from erysipelas during the past nine weeks, she had been able to be up and around the house. She was able to be at the table to eat her supper Monday. Shortly after she was stricken with apoplexy and died within a few minutes.

Funeral services will be held at the Siemsen church in Pleasant Valley township Friday afternoon. Burial will be by the side of the husband in the Siemsen church cemetery.

Mr. Meester died in 1925. Since that time his wife continued to live on the home farm which Mr. Meester acquired when he came to Grundy county in 1869. Following the death of her husband, a second house was built on this farm which the mother occupied and one of the children and family looked after the farm.

Mrs. Meester was the mother of ten children. All but one, Mrs. Heit Peters, are living. The surviving children are Mrs. Ben Engelkes, Jacob Meester, Joe A., Thomas, Mrs. George Kruger, Mrs. Joe J. Meester, John G., Mrs. Eilert Pruis, and Henry.
