H. Hempen, Old Grundy Resident, Died Monday

Hempe Hempen, who came to Grundy county forty-seven years ago, died at the home of his son Joe in Grundy Center Monday night. He was 86 years old. He had been a sufferer during the past six months from bladder trouble.

Mr. Hempen owned a farm in Lincoln township, three miles north of Lincoln Center. He made his home there during the largest portion of the time that he resided in Grundy county. He came to town to stay with his son only a short time ago.

Mr. Hempen's wife died several years ago. Surviving is the one son, Joe, and four grandchildren.

Short services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the farm home three miles north of Lincoln Center, following which the funeral services will be at the Lincoln Center church, conducted by the local pastor, Rev. Schuurman.
