The sudden death of Horace Sisson was a shock to his friends and neighbors. He was sick about a week at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown, where he died Thursday night. The funeral was in the M.E. church at Whitten, burial in the Benson cemetery. Rev. Briggs, pastor of the Christian church, had charge of the funeral in the absence of Rev. Shoemaker.

Felix Twp. Farmer Dies In Marshalltown Hospital

Horace Dewey Sisson from Felix township dies in the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown last Thursday night following a brief illness. He was 33 years, 11 months and 28 days old at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church at Whitten with Rev. E. E. Briggs of the Christian church preaching the sermon. Burial was in the Benson cemetery.

The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Sisson. He was born in Felix township Sept. 12, 1898, and spent all of his life on the home farm.

On December 3, 1919, he was united in marriage to Bertha Mitchell of Whitten. They were blessed with five children, three girls and two boys, Lois June, Russel James, Marvin Leo, Helen Virginia, and Edith Mae, all at home.

Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his death a dear mother and father, one brother, Bert Sisson, of Conrad; six sisters, Grace Parrish, Tura Arnold, Dortha Rubow of Eldora; Ruth Kock of Whitten; Golda Lowe of Des Moines, and Bessie Hauser of Liscomb; also a host of relatives and friends.
