Mrs. Arend Pruisner Died At Stout Wed. Morning

Was Sick But a Week With Flu and Face Infection

Mrs. Arend Pruisner passed away at seven o'clock Wednesday morning from flu and infection on her face at her home near Stout. She was taken sick last Thursday and it was thought to be mumps because of a swelling in the face. A trained nurse was called to care for her, but she gradually grew worse. She was born June 8, 1894, at Stout, Iowa, where she spent her entire lifetime. The only remaining relatives are her husband and aged father, Hillard Jacobs, who has been making his home with her. She had one sister who died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at one o'clock from the Salem Lutheran church with Rev. Paulson officiating. Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.

Obituary Mrs. Christina Pruisner
(By Rev. Paulsen)

Christina Pruisner, nee Jacobs, was born June 8, 1893, in Grundy county. Soon after birth she was baptized and in 1908 was confirmed with a class of eight in the Lutheran church. She was married on the 21st of February, 1917, to Arend Pruisner. The young couple moved to the farm owned by her parents where they lived for 14 years. A year and a half ago her mother died, August 11, 1929.

Mrs. Pruisner was taken sick and died very suddenly last Wednesday, March 18. All the loving care possible was given to her, but in spite of it all she was taken. She had daily communication with her pastor, Rev. Paulson. The day before she died she was longing to receive the Lord's supper.

She died March 18, 1931, at 7 o'clock in the morning at the age of 37 years, 9 months and 10 days. She leaves to mourn her husband and aged father.

The funeral was held at the Salem Lutheran church Friday. The text was Matthew 26:39 in German, and the English was taken from Job 19:25-26. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
