Mrs. Buffington Dead

Mrs. Buffington, better known as grandmother Buffington, died at the home of her son in Morrison at 12:30 Monday morning. Her death was due to pneumonia. Mrs. Buffington was eighty-two years old. Funeral services were held at Morrison yesterday. A complete biography of Mrs. Buffington will be given in the next paper.

Mrs. I. W. Buffington

Amelia Elizabeth Carr Buffington was born in the Bermuda Islands, in 1832, and died at her home Feb. 16th, 1914, at the age of 82 years. She was married to Isaac W. Buffington in Winchester, West Virginia.

Seven children were born to this union, five of whom are living: Mrs. Emma Drenner, of Lanark, Ill., Clarence, Clifford and Cal Buffington and Mrs. Lillie Dew, all of Morrison.

After her marriage she and her husband resided in Maryland until 1877, when they moved to Carroll county, Illinois.

In 1892 they moved to Morrison, Iowa. Here her husband died April 23rd, 1899. Since that time she has lived with her oldest son, Clarence. She leaves to mourn her death her five children, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Grandma Buffington was a quiet, reserved lady. Her health for the past three years was such that would not permit her to leave her home. She was a good mother, and her memory will be a precious treasure in her children's hearts.

The funeral was held in the Morrison church on Feb. 18th, Rev. F. A. Helzer preached the sermon. The three sons, two sons-in-law and one grandson acted as pall bearers. Interment in Morrison cemetery.
