Mrs. Sam Bockes died at her home in Conrad last Saturday following a several weeks sickness from gall stones and heart trouble. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Hiltebridle were held at Alice church Tuesday afternoon and though the roads were bad there was a very large attendance.

Mrs. Bockes had been a resident of Grundy for forty-four years. She was a native of Pennsylvania and came here with her husband and family. The family located on a farm near Alice where they lived until seven or eight years ago when they removed to Conrad. During her long residence in Grundy county Mrs. Bockes formed a large circle of acquaintances, all of whom became lasting friends of hers. Tho she had reached the advanced age of 81 she remained both mentally and physically strong until the last few weeks and it was a new experience for her to be required to have others wait on her.

Mrs. Bockes is survived by her husband, two sons and two daughters. The sons are Simon and Jerry and the daughters are Mrs. Ellen Freed and Mrs. Anna Fink.
