Dike Old Resident Dies In Cedar Falls Hospital

Mrs. Jannek Jensen, Who Lived in County 48 Years, Buried Monday

Mrs. Jannek Jensen died at the hospital in Cedar Falls last Friday night. She had been in failing health for two months from heart trouble. A week before her death she went to the hospital for treatment.

Mrs. Jensen was an early resident of northeast Grundy. She came to the county 48 years ago and made her home here continually. She lived on a northeast Grundy farm until eighteen years ago when the family moved to Dike.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at 1:30 Monday and later at the church at Fredsville with Rev. Stockholm officiating.

Mrs. Jensen's maiden name was Katrona Larson. She was born in Denmark in 1863. She came to America in 1881, first making her home at Emmetsburg, Iowa. A year later she moved to Grundy county where she had resided since. She was united in marriage to Jannek Jensen in 1888.

To the union four children were born of whom two, Mrs. Hans Johnson and an infant daughter preceded their mother in death. Surviving are a son, Hans Jensen, a daughter, Mrs. Ed Holm, and a half-brother, Hans Oversen, all living at Dike. Her husband preceded Mrs. Jensen in death five years ago.
