Early Resident Died at Liscomb

John P. Kail, well known throughout the vicinity of Beaman and Conrad, died last Thursday at Liscomb at the age of 74 of Hardening of the Arteries. He had been in failing health for some time but had been confined to his bed for only the past three weeks before his death.

He was born April 27, 1856, just over the line in Hardin county, one mile north of Liscomb, moving to Liscomb in 1908. He was married to Florence Isabelle Baker Jan. 19, 1880. He was married a second time, Sept. 6, 1898 to Mrs. Louisa Ogg, who survives him. He is also survived by four children by his first marriage: Mrs. James Hughes of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin; Mrs. William Henderson, Paopi, Minnesota, and William Henry Kail and Mrs. Hughes of Beaman. Two step-sons, David Ogg, of Liscomb, and James Ogg of Centralia, Illinois, also survive.

Funeral services were held at Liscomb at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Liscomb Christian church with Rev. George Biersborn officiating. Burial was made in the Conrad cemetery. Those from away were: Mrs. Carrie Hughes and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Dutton and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kail and family, Beaman; Mr. and Mrs. James Ogg and son, Centralia, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Patterson, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. George Hamlin and Mrs. Mertie Hall, Albion; Mr. and Mrs. George Hundredmark and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hundredmark, Whitten; Henry Malfield and family and Mrs. Abbie Ota, Melbourne; Mr. and Mrs. Barney Chamness, New Providence; Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore, Conrad, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hammond and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Bonaventura and daughter, Dolly.
