Morrison Resident Dies Last Monday

K. Kauffman Is Victim of Cancer of the Liver

General Kossuth Kaufman, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Haight Kaufman, was born at Warren, Ohio, Sept. 7, 1852, and passed away at his home in Morrison of cancer of the liver of October 27, 1930, aged 78 years, 1 month and 20 days. He was the youngest of three children and the last surviving member of his own immediate family.

On February 25, 1877, he was united in marriage to Euphemia Rait at Eldred, Penn. To this union were born six children. William died March 26, 1880, of diphtheria, aged 2 1/2 years. James died April 9, 1880, of diphtheria, aged 9 months. Lewis died Feb. 16, 1905, of diabetes, aged 19 years.

He is survived by his widow and three children: Mrs. Will Mooty, residing two miles south of Morrison; Robert, of Grundy Center; George, of Chicago. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lewis and Helen Mooty, Russell, Lillian, Ruth and Arthur Kaufman.

The family moved from Eldred, Penn., to Morrison in 1891 and have resided in that community since. The family have made their home in Morrison since 1909.

Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church at Morrison Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Whitmore officiating.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were George Kaufman of Chicago; Will Rait, Perry; James Rait, Parker, So. Dak.; Margaret and Grace Rait, Cedar Falls; Margaret Ellis Blossum, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Hutton, Des Moines.
