Funeral Services for Mrs. Worden Held Saturday Morning

The remains of Mrs. Elizabeth Worden, an early resident of Grundy Center, arrived here from Sibley Friday evening and they were taken to the Coffman mortuary. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Bird, pastor of the Methodist church and were held there at ten o'clock Saturday morning. The remains were laid by the side of the husband in the Grundy Center cemetery. Mrs. Worden's only son, Wayne, came here with the remains from Sibley.

The following account of Mrs. Worden's death was published in the last issue of the Sibley Gazette.

Mrs. Elizabeth Worden died at her home on Seventh street, Wednesday morning at 12:30 at the age of 80 years. She had been ill for a few days with a light attack of flu, which was brought on by a heart attack.

Elizabeth Margaret Lowery was born in Carroll county, Illinois, August 14, 1844. Her people came from New York State. She was married to John N. Worden, March 16, 1870, in Ogle Co., Ill. They moved to Sibley in the fall of 1898, making 32 years residence in this city. Her husband, John N. Worden, passed away eight years ago. She was a good mother and much beloved by her family.

Funeral services will be held at the house Friday at 2:30, Rev. Paul Jackson in charge. The body will be taken to Grundy Center for burial beside her husband.

She is survived by two children, one son, Wayne, and a daughter, Allie, both of Sibley, one sister, Mrs. C. L. Huntley and one brother, E. E. Lowery of Santa Anna, California.
