Dike Resident Dies at Cedar Falls

Andrew Christensen from Dike died at the Sartori hospital at Cedar Falls Tuesday afternoon from a complication of ailments. Death followed shortly after an operation.

Mr. Christensen was a native of Denmark. He was born March 3rd, 1866. He came to this country 41 years ago and lived on a farm in the northeast part of the county all of that time. He was unmarried.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Fredsville church.

Andrew Christiansen Dead

Andrew Christiansen, who has been making his home with Chris Peterson and family for the past 10 or 12 years, died Tuesday morning at 3 o'clock following an operation Friday morning at the Sartori hospital, at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 13 days. This was the second operation he had undergone of late.

Mr. Christiansen had never married. Left to survive are four brothers, Chris Christiansen and Jens Christiansen of Dike; Peter M. and Chris R. Christiansen of Denmark and four sisters, Mrs. R. Ablinene, Livermore, Calif., Mrs. Ben Dixon, Mrs. Anna Christiansen and Marie of Denmark. None of those from a distance will attend the funeral.

Mr. Christiansen has lived around Dike for the past 41 years, working for Hans Boysen, east of town, and many other of the farmers in this vicinity. Funeral services will be held from the Dahl Funeral Parlors in Cedar Falls at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Fredsville cemetery, Rev. Stockholm officiating.
