Fredsville Man Dies From Injuries
James Aagard from Fairfield township was hurt last Friday in a fall at a farm near Cedar Rapids where he was working. Loss of blood from the would he received in the fall caused his death.
The remains were sent to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Aagard of Fairfield township. Funeral services were held at the Fredsville church Monday afternoon, where interment was made. He was 43 years old.
The Legionaires of Dike Post 471 in a body attended the funeral and burial of James Aagard at the Fredsville church and cemetery. Mr. Aagard was an ex-service veteran and legionaire. He was born and reared in the Dike community and had many friends. The color guards accompanying the color bearers with the Starts and Stripes floating in the breezes with the Post colors beside them and the world war veterans in ranks following, expressing the respects to his memory, was an impressive ceremony to the church filled throng that attended the funeral and burial. Kirk Oleson, Legionaire, of Cedar Falls, blew taps.
