Obituary of Mrs. Sitters

Trientje Jansen Van Sitters, nee Junker, was born Nov. 17, 1843, in Neermaar, Ostfriesland. Left an orphan in her infancy she was given a home by an aunt until her marriage to her surviving husband, Henry Van Sitters, on April 28, 1876, at Neermaar. Emigrating to this country in 1882, they located in Grundy county. Thirty-five years ago they moved to Holland where they have since resided.

About three years ago they had the enjoyment of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary among their family and a host of friends. Although an invalid for the past two and a half years, she bore her affliction with great patience and peacefully departed this life on the morning of June 12th, at the age of 85 years, 6 months and twenty-five days.

Besides a loving and devoted wife and mother, she always proved a faithful friend to those in need.

Those left to mourn her departure are her aged husband, two sons, Harm of Holland, Henry of St. Paul, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Meester, Parkersburg; Mrs. Jennie Orvis, Sumner, and Mrs. Reka Dingle, Morrison; also seven grandchildren and a large number of friends.
