Obituary of W. E. Reynolds
William Edward Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Reynolds, was born in Union, Iowa, Apr. 15, 1873, and died in Tampa, Fla., Nov. 28, 1928, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 13 days, his sudden death being due to apoplexy.
In his childhood his parents moved to Felix township, this county, on a farm, later moving to Whitten in 1886 where he worked in his father's store for a number of years, later working in Marshalltown and Chicago. A few years later owing to his father's poor health he returned to Whitten to engage in business with his father.
As a boy of fifteen years, Mr. Reynolds united with the Methodist Episcopal church. He was preceded in death by his parents in 1915.
Always having had a desire to sometime live in Florida, he went to Tampa in the fall of 1925, residing there at the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his untimely death one sister, Mrs. Nellie Price, three brothers, Ray and Frank, of Whitten, George Preston of South Pekin, Ill., and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Whitten M.E. church, Rev. F. C. Griewe officiating, and interment was in the Benson cemetery.
