Brought to Whitten for Burial

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Ben F. Dighton, of Sigourney, a former resident who died Tuesday at Rochester, Minnesota. The services were in charge of Reverend George Biersborn of Liscomb and burial was in the Benson cemetery.

The pallbearers, all brothers-in-law, were Lowell Ankrum and I. V. Allen of Albion, Marion and William Dickinson of Eldora, and Charles McCloud of Whitten. The flowers were in charge of Mrs. Charles Stanbrough, Mrs. Elmer Lamer, and Mrs. Earl Lamer.

Mr. Dighton was born near Main, Iowa, thirty-nine years ago, and when 2 years old moved with his parents to Grundy County near Whitten. This was his home until he was 19 years old when he was married to Emma Lois Dickinson on February 16, 1910. Two daughters were born to them, Rosella and Bernita, who survive with the widow and a sister, Mrs. Charles McCloud of Whitten, two brothers, William and Ed, and a half brother, Ralph Dighton, of Whitten.

The pallbearers were all brothers-in-law. They were Lovell Ankrum and I. V. Allen, of Albion, Marion and William Dickinson, of Union, David Dickinson, of Eldora, and Chas. McCloud of Whitten. The flowers were in charge of Mesdames Chas. Stanbrough, Earl and Elmer Lamer.

Those from away at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Burns, Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sheridan, Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Schimmelpfennig. Miss Opal Schimmelpfennig, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wiley, Sigourney; Mrs. Herb Dansdill, Thornburg; Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Allen, of Iowa City.
