P. Wolbrecht Dies Suddenly
Heart Failure Brings End Without Warning Friday Morning
Peter Wolbrecht died very suddenly at his home in Lincoln township about five o'clock Friday morning. Death came suddenly from heart failure. He had been sick for some little time with the flu, from which he had about recovered. He became restless and was feeling quite badly about three o'clock Friday morning. He got up for a short time and told his stepson, Lewis Semlow, and wife, who were up with him, that he was feeling better and he went back to bed. Mr. and Mrs. Semlow were awakened by a noise about five o'clock and when they got up the found Mr. Wolbrecht lying unconscious on the floor. They sent for a doctor immediately but the end had come before the doctor arrived.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Gerdes were held at the Lincoln Center church Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the Lincoln cemetery.
Mr. Wolbrecht was born in Eastfriesland, Germany, January 7, 1868. He came to this county in 1892. A year later he married Miss Tena Heronimus, with whom he became acquainted before she came to this country a year ahead of Mr. Wolbrecht. The first wife died during the flu epidemic of 1919. A few years later Mr. Wolbrecht married Mrs. Ella Semlow and they made their home in Grundy Center. The second wife died five years ago. Since that time Mr. Wolbrecht made his home with his step-son and his wife, who resided on Mr. Wolbrecht's farm in Lincoln township.
