Hasbrouck Dies At Hospital

Passed Away at Iowa City Wednesday Morning

Lee Hasbrouck died at the hospital at Iowa City at 4:25 yesterday morning. Old age and heart failure were the cause. His health had been failing for several months and he was taken to the hospital Friday for treatment. While his condition was considered quite serious, the end was not expected so suddenly.

L. D. Coffman and Chas. Biebesheimer drove to Iowa City yesterday morning and brought the remains here. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon.

Mr. Hasbrouck was 85 years old. He was born in the state of New York February 26th, 1845. He was a resident of Grundy Center for more than fifty years. He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters. The sons are Ben and Bob of Cedar Rapids. The daughters are Mrs. I. J. Boothe, Grundy Center, Mrs. Jack Shannon, Storm Lake, and Mrs. Perry Walrod, Hawarden, Iowa.

Leander Pelton Hasbrouck was born Feb. 26, 1845, in Kingston, New York. He died in Iowa City, Feb. 12, 1930, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 4 days.

He leaves his wife and five children, three daughters and two sons. These children are Mrs. I. J. Boothe of Grundy Center, Mrs. Perry W. Walrod of Hawarden, Benjamin of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. John Shannon of Storm Lake, and Robert of Cedar Rapids. He leaves also a brother, E. O. Hasbrouck of Grundy Center and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. B. Fisher, D.D., at the Baptist church. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
