Oscar Thomas, Pioneer Resident of County, Called to His Reward

Oscar D. Thomas was born April 23, 1861, in Stephenson county, Ill., and died at his home in Grundy Center, Iowa, Jan. 1, 1928.

On Dec. 2, 1886, he was married to Mary Litzkow. Three children were born to this union: Luverna, Mrs. Geo. Canfield, of this city; Goldie, Mrs. Nate Jaspers, Ortonville, Minn.; and Howard William, who died in infancy. Besides these there are left to mourn his loss one brother, Rev. W. O. Thomas, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Libbie Stivers, Omak, Wash.; Mrs. Jessie Kitzkow, Andover, S.D.; and Thelma Jaspers, his only grandchild.

Those present at the funeral services from out of town were his daughter, Mrs. Goldie Jaspers, and daughter, of Ortonville, Minn.; his brother, Otis Thomas, of Kansas City; and Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Litzkow, of Andover, S.D.
