DIGHTON, LAMER, CROSIER

Byron B. Dighton, son of Ben and Catherine Dighton, was born in Delaware county, Iowa, April 17th, 1856, and died Saturday, June 25th, 1927. He was married to Susie A. Lamer Jan. 1st, 1880. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Etta McCloud, William D. Dighton, Ben F. Dighton, Ralph B. Dighton, and an infant son. His wife died October 28, 1903. On March 12th, 1908, he was married to Lydia Crosier, and to this union was born one son, Edward C. Mrs. Stephen Dishaw, a sister, of Hopkinton, survives.

Mr. Dighton joined the Christian church when a young man. He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge of Union; also a member of the Modern Woodman lodge, at Whitten.

The funeral services were held Monday, June 27th. Services were conducted by Rev. Knoer at the home two miles north of Whitten. Interment was in Benson cemetery.

Relatives who were at the funeral from a distance: Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dighton, of Thornburg; Mr. and Mrs. David Lamer, of Harlan; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Foster, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Crecelius, of Iowa Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen of Hopkinton.
