Mrs. John Stickfort Dies Tuesday

Mrs. John Stickfort died at her home in Grundy Center at nine o'clock Tuesday evening. She had been in failing health for several months. About a month ago she was operated upon at a Waterloo hospital but her condition did not improve after the operation. She was 84 years old.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Engelkes Funeral Home and at 1:30 at Bethany Presbyterian church with Rev F. J. Langenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Was Native Of Germany
Mrs. Stickfort was born in Germany. She was married in Germany to John Stickfort's brother. She and her children came to America in 1901. Shortly after that she and John Stickfort were married. That was nearly 50 years ago. They lived in Wisconsin about three years and about three years in Minnesota after which they came to Grundy county where they remained permanently thereafter. They lived on a farm near Wellsburg a number of years and in Holland 20 years. Ten years ago they moved to Grundy Center.

Surviving are the husband and 7 children. The children are Henry Stickfort, Oelwein; Mrs. Dena Kruger, Sibley; William, Stout; Emil, Holland; Mrs. Anna Janssen, Dempster, S.D.; George, Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; and Mrs. Helen Everts, Grundy Center. All the children except Mrs. Everts are from the first marriage. Mrs. Everts has been making her home with her parents in late years.
