Frank Long Buried At Conrad

A prayer service for Frank Long, who died Friday at Boston, Mass., was held Wednesday afternoon at the Johnston Funeral home in Conrad. Burial was made in the Conrad cemetery. The body arrived in Marshalltown Tuesday afternoon.

Frank Long Obituary

Frank K. Long, born near Whitten, Iowa, April 14, 1875 and died Jan. 4, 1951 at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 21 days. He was the son of Martha and David Long and lived with his parents on the farm near Whitten until the completion of his schooling in the grades. He then entered Leander Clark college at Toledo, Ia., and after graduation matriculated in the Law school at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, from which he graduated and received admission to the Bar in June, 1898. He was married to Luella Fritzel Sept. 27, 1899 at Conrad, Iowa. To this union, three children were born, Mrs. Everett Wood of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Ivan Kennedy, Oskaloosa and Kenneth Long of Mason City, Ia.

Mr. Long practiced law in Union for a number of years and took an active part in city affairs, being president of the school board for several years, an active member of the Congregational church and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge.

In 1921 he received an appointment to the Internal Revenue Department with headquarters in Mason City, Iowa. At this time he moved his family from Union, to Mason City, where they made their home for many years. He later became associated with the Auditing Bureau of Circulation, which caused him to travel extensively for a number of years, and of late has been employed by the Proctor Estate of Boston, Mass., until his recent illness and death at the Boston hospital, Boston, Mass. He is survived by his widow, three children and 6 grandchildren. A prayer service for Mr. Long was held at the Johnston funeral home in Conrad at 2 p.m., Wednesday afternoon with the service in charge of C. E. Gildner of Mason City. Burial was made in the Conrad cemetery.
