Mrs. Bess Binder Dies

Mrs. Bessie A. Binder, 65, died at the Rainsbarger Nursing home in Eldora at 1:15 p.m. Friday afternoon following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Middleton, and was born in Beaman, June 16, 1885. The family later moved to Conrad, where she was married to John L. Binder May 15, 1905, who preceded her in death a year ago last September.

Immediate survivors are a son, Franklin T. Binder of Des Moines and a daughter, Mrs. Alfred Johnson of Conrad. Three sons preceded her in death. She is also survived by several grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. H. E. Cross of Conrad, and Mrs. Charlie Torrence of Bena, Minn., and two brothers, Fred of Conrad and Asa of Grundy Center. Three sisters also preceded her in death. The body was taken to the Johnston Funeral home in Conrad.

Funeral services for Mrs. Binder were held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Conrad, with Rev. W. G. Warren in charge. The music was furnished by Mrs. Vane Graham and Mrs. Grant Frier who sang one song, "Last Mile of The Way," accompanied by Evelyn Stevens.

Pall bearers were Calvin Crouse, C. M. Evans, D. C. Reese, F. F. Alexander, E. F. Thorman and Carroll Butler.

Burial was in the Conrad cemetery.
