Mrs. Almira Whorrall Laid To Rest Here
Mrs. Almira Whorrall, 80, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. J. R. Harrison at Marshalltown. Mrs. Harrison had been caring for Mrs. Whorrall in her home in Marshalltown since June 24th. Mrs. Whorrall was born Nov. 1st, 1869, on a farm in Vienna township, the daughter of G. J. Hurlbutt and Sarah W. Conrad. Mrs. Whorrall has spent her entire life in the Conrad vicinity, but for a number of years she has spent the most of her time as a medical patient in the Deaconess hospital, returning at intervals to her home in south Conrad. She is survived only by nieces and nephews: Geo. Hurlbutt, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ralston, Mr. and Mrs. Burt Stewart and Archie, William and Ruth McClain. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad with Rev. John Ludemann in charge. Music selections were played by Mrs. Clifford Green. Pall bearers were Wayne Stewart, Lowell McKibben, Lawrence Lundberg, Allen Stewart, William Conrad and C. M. Evans. Burial was in the Conrad cemetery.
