Mrs. Joe Schuler Dies At Hospital

Mrs. Joe Schuler died last Thursday at St. Francis hospital in Waterloo following a short illness. She was 72 years old.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Grundy Center at nine o'clock Monday. Rev. Fr. Kress officiated at the service. Burial was in the Grant Center Catholic church cemetery.

Was Native of Germany
Mrs. Schuler was a native of Germany. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heiko Jans. She was born October 8, 1878. At the age of 12 she came to this country with her parents. On January 2, 1902, she was married to Joseph Schuler. The couple resided on a Grundy county farm during all of their married life. Following the death of her husband several years ago she came to Grundy Center where she managed the household of Lewis Meier.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Marvin Schuler of Reinbeck; one sister, Ann, Hope, N.D., and five brothers: Emil, John and Cobus Jans, Reinbeck; Herman, Marshalltown, and Henry, of Spokane, Wash.
