Fred H. Peters Dies Suddenly From Heart Attack

Fred H. Peters died quite suddenly at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo early Friday morning. He was stricken with a heart attack while in bed at his home seven miles southwest of Grundy Center about three o'clock in the morning. A doctor was called at once, who prepared the patient for the hospital. He died a short time after he reached the hospital. His sudden death came as a great shock to members of his family and to his many friends. he was 55 years old last March.

Funeral Services Largely Attended
Funeral services were held at the Alice Church of God Monday afternoon and there was a very large attendance. The services were conducted by Rev. Alvin Mitchell, local pastor. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. Casketbearers were L. F. Doak, E. H. Henricks, Ernest Hess, O. C. Joyce, Ed Pallman, Ernest Draper.

About $80 was presented by relatives and friends as a memorial fund for the deceased.

Obituary
Fred H. Peters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reint C. Peters, was born on the farm in Pleasant Valley township, Grundy county, March 17, 1895, and passed away at Allen Memorial hospital, Waterloo, on the morning of August 18, 1950, at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 1 day.

Mr. Peters was married to Hannah Lindaman, February 5, 1919. The family farmed near Parkersburg, Eldora and Wellsburg, and moved to the community southwest of Grundy Center about 20 years ago.

He is survived by his wife and three sons: Roger, Marlyn and Gordon of Grundy Center, and 3 grandchildren; his father, R. C. Peters of Cedar Falls; one brother, Raymond, of Cedar Falls; four sisters, Cora (Mrs. John Harken) Cedar Falls; Amanda (Mrs. Andrew Sorensen) Cedar Falls; Margaret of Independence; Ruth of Cedar Falls; two half-brothers, Vernon and Robert of Cedar Falls and one half-sister, Jean, of California. He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother, one sister and one grandchild.
