R. C. Pabst Dies Seated In Chair
Rudolph C. Pabst, age 70, died suddenly Tuesday at his home in Grundy Center. Death resulted from a heart ailment. He was unloading a load of cobs at his home Tuesday. Apparently he did not feel well at sometime in the latter part of the afternoon and went into his house to sit down for a few moments. He was found Wednesday morning seated in his rocking chair.
Ray Bienfang, a neighbor of Mr. Pabst, noticed early Wednesday morning that the Pabst car had not been put in the garage the night before. As things didn't look just right, Ray Bienfang and Chris Johnson decided to investigate at the Pabst home, and found that he had died while seated in his chair.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Engelkes Funeral Home, followed by services at the Bethany Presbyterian church. Services will be in charge of Rev. Henry Zwaanstra. Burial will be in the Lincoln Center church.
Rudolph C. Pabst was born in Lincoln township March 26, 1880, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Pabst. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Chris Johnson of Grundy Center and several nieces and nephews.
