The death of Joseph Fackle, pioneer settler of Reinbeck, came suddenly at his home Sunday afternoon as the result of a stroke of apoplexy.
Mr. Fackle was born in Vienna, Austria, Aug. 25, 1847. He came to America with his parents in 1849 and lived in Chicago until 1851 when he moved to Freeport, Ill., where he was married. His wife preceded him in death in 1905. He joined the I.O.O.F. lodge of Freeport in 1875 and has been a faithful member since. Last fall he was presented a jewel by the lodge as a token of his long membership.
Four children were born to them, all of whom are living, Mrs. Harriett Krajewski, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Mamie Willer and Mrs. Jennie Slessor, Reinbeck; and Frank, who has made his home with his father for the past 10 years.
The funeral was held at the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the I.O.O.F. lodge. Burial was in the Reinbeck cemetery.
