Mrs. Tabena Janssen passed away Saturday night at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. George Bovey, 433 Locust St., Waterloo, after an illness of one week with influenza.
Mrs. Janssen was a resident of the Reinbeck vicinity 41 years, making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Aug. Saak and Mrs. Henry Samo.
Tobena Bross Janssen was born Nov. 13, 1830, in Middlum, Germany, and emigrated to this country in 1885. Her husband, Oltmair Janssen, died in Germany, in 1863. She was the mother of four daughters and one son, Henry. Those surviving are Mrs. Ettie Saak and Amanda Samo, Reinbeck, and Elizabeth Beckman, Onamia, Minn.
Funeral services were held at the Reinbeck Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in the Reinbeck cemetery.
