Obituary of Jannek Jensen

Jannek Jensen was born in Denmark Mar. 17, 1853. At the age of 15 he came to America and settled at Clinton, where he remained two years. Following this he moved to Cedar Falls and made his home on a farm near Fredsville until ten years ago, when he moved to Dike. He passed away at his home Feb. 14th after an illness of several months.

On Sept. 30, 1883, he was united in marriage with Catherine Larsen. To this union were born four children, one dying in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Hans Johnson, died two years ago. Those left to mourn his death are his widow, one son, Hans, a daughter, Mrs. Edward Holm, ten grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Juhl of Parkersburg.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Chamberlin, followed by services at the Fredsville church. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Fredsville.
