LANDES, SPURLIN

Mrs. William Landes, nee Delpha A. Spurlin, daughter of Wm. and Juliann Spurlin, was born in Hardin county, Iowa, Jan. 13, 1858, and departed this life at her home near Union, Iowa, March 18, 1925, aged 67 years, 2 mos. and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Wm. Landes March 1, 1883. To this union were born two sons, Clyde E. Landes, deceased, and Asa B. Landes, of Marshalltown.

She united with the Church of Christ at Whitten some years ago and although she could not attend church often, she lived and died in the christian faith.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Edwin Hignett at the Church of Christ, Whitten, March 20, 1925. Interment was at the Benson cemetery.

The relatives from a distance were her brother, Seth Spurlin, of Jewell, Iowa, Vern Landes of Lyon, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wood of Hampton; Mrs. Lizzie Pierriel of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Elsie Monroe of Gifford, and Sol Landes, of Rhodes.
