Services Saturday For Jacob Meints

Funeral services for Jacob Meints, age 80, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30th, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian church with burial in the Colfax Center cemetery, with Rev. Gene Straatmeyer officiating.

Casketbearers were Herman Harrentsein, John Harrenstein, Leland Arends, Richard Ross, Henry Hippen and George Thoren.

He was born in German township, Grundy county, February 23, 1890, the son of John Meints and Grace Miller Meints. He was married to Anne Groenwold on January 17, 1917. They farmed in Colfax township until retiring to Grundy Center in 1965.

Mrs. Meints died April 20, 1959. He was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. He is survived by two sons, Vernon, of rural Wellsburg, Vincel, of Parkersburg, one daughter, Velma at home; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Bert Harrenstein of Wellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three sisters.
