Mrs. Walbrichs Dies Suddenly
Had Been in Usual Health Up to Hour She Was Stricken
Mrs. Peter Wolbrichs died very suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Bridge street on Tuesday afternoon of this week.
Mr. Wolbrichs, who is working for the county out of the county Engineer's office, had gone to the country and Mrs. Wolbrichs had gone up town to do some shopping that forenoon, and returning home she suddenly felt something coming over her. She stepped to the telephone and called some of the near neighbors and when they arrived at her home they found Mrs. Wolbrichs lying on the floor near the telephone, having suffered a stroke of paralysis.
A physician was called, but nothing could be done for her and she expired at about 1:30 that afternoon, having never spoken after she was first stricken.
Ella Wolbrichs nee Hayungs was born Sept. 17, 1872, in Nessmar Grode, Ostfriesland, Germany. In the year 1891 she came to America and settled at first in Indiana, she then came to Peoria, Ill., where she was united in marriage to Albert Semlow in the year 1899. This union was blessed with one son.
In 1914 she came to Iowa. Two years ago she was married to Peter Wolbrichs and has made her home since in Grundy Center.
She died Dec. 16, 1924, at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 29 days, leaving to mourn her loss her husband, one son, Louie Semlow, one grandchild, one brother in America and two brothers and one sister in Germany.
Mrs. Wolbrichs was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and also a member of the Ladies' Aid of that church, where she will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be held at 12 o'clock noon Friday in the house and at 12:30 in the Presbyterian church, Rev. H. F. Sinning officiating.
