Old Resident Passes Away

Harm Bakker, who had been a resident of north Grundy and Butler counties alternately , during the past fifty-five years, died at his home in Allison, Wednesday afternoon last; the cause of death being brain fever, with complications. He had been sick but nine days.

Deceased was born at Neu Bertha, Holland, and his boyhood days were spent there, but at the age of 21, with his wife and children, he came to America and to this section. He was father of nine children, two are in Holland, seven here. The daughters are Mrs. Eppe Bulten, Mrs. Jacob Klooster, Mrs. Wubbo Viet; the sons, William, Henry, Harm and Arend.

Funeral services were held at the Dutch Reformed church, four miles east of Ackley, Saturday afternoon, the service being conducted by Rev. Plesscher, pastor.
