Ben Miller Dies Suddenly
Ben Miller, living a mile west of Fern, died at his home at an early hour Sunday morning. He was in his usual good health the day before and was as well as usual when he went to bed about ten o'clock Saturday night. He suffered a stroke of paralysis a short time after he went to bed and did not regain consciousness before the end came a few hours later.
Funeral services were held at the home yesterday afternoon and later at the Siemsen church where interment was made. There was a very large attendance at the funeral as Mr. Miller was an old settler and a highly respected citizen from his community.
Mr. Miller was sixty-eight years old. He was born in Germany and came to this country when he was a boy and all of his active life he has resided here. He is survived by a wife and four children. The children are Mrs. Adam Zapf, Mrs. Will Everts, of this county, Mrs. Shipper of Aplington and Jake Miller, who lives at home and operates the farm.
