Old Clay Twp. Resident Dies

William H. Whorrall died at his home in Conrad on August 13th following a long illness. He was a long time resident of Grundy county and a man held in high esteem by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Conrad Wednesday afternoon. Interment was made in the Beaman cemetery.

Obituary
William H. Whorrall, son of Thomas and Euthemia Whorrall, was born Aug. 6, 1852, near Metamora, Ill., and died after a prolonged illness at his home in Conrad, Iowa, August 13, 1923, aged 71 years and one week.

He was married Jan. 18, 1877, to Susan M. Faucett, of Shelbyville, Ill., to this union were born eight children, two girls and six boys. The girls are Mrs. George Sisson, of Alden, Ia., and Mrs. Clyde Winslow, of Grundy Center, Iowa, Roy of Jenners, Pa., and Ralph at home. Two children died in infancy, and Homer died in the service September 28, 1918, at Winchester, England. Besides these he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Leonard, of Wichita, Kans., and two brothers, Joseph, of Gladbrook, Iowa, and James, of Conrad, Iowa.

Mr. Whorrall was converted in early manhood and united with the M.E. church. He lived a consistent christian life and loved his church. He was very faithful in its work as long as his health permitted. He served at S.S. superintendent for a number of years.

A loving and devoted husband and a kind and faithful father has been taken.
