Funeral Saturday For Mrs. Noordman At W'burg Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Anka Heikens Noordman were held on Saturday afternoon, January 30 at 1:15 p.m. at the Creps Funeral Home at Eldora and later at the First Christian Reformed church. Rev. Bernard Visscher was officiating clergyman.

Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Music was furnished by a men's quartet composed of Claus G. Primus, Harvey Eiten, Willis Bakker and Alfred Eiten. Miss Elizabeth Eekhoff was organist. Miss Anna Doolard and Mrs. Earl Stupp were flower attendants. Pall bearers were Dick Werkman, Noble DeNeui, Gerald Bakker, Frederick Fisher, Dickie DeNeui and John Jutting.

Mrs. Noordman nee Heikens was born on April 17, 1893 in Grundy county to Julius and Henrietta Meyers Heikens. She attended school in the Wellsburg community.

On February 26, 1914 she was united in marriage to Arend Noordman. They lived their married life in Hardin and Grundy counties. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Bogers who passed away in November 1958, and Mrs. Leo Pieters of Steamboat Rock.

Mrs. Noordman passed away at the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington of a heart attack on January 27. She had been a resident of the home since October 1, 1964 and had been ill for some time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband in 1939 and by the eldest daughter in 1958.

Those who survive are one daughter, Mrs. Leo Pieters of Steamboat Rock; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Heikens, Ebbo Heikens, Henry Heikens and Herry Heikens all of the Wellsburg vicinity; also three sisters Mrs. Gratus Wilts of Steamboat Rock, Mrs. Wm. Wulf of Wellsburg, and Mrs. Anna Nederhoff of Ackley, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
