Funeral Services For Leo Billman

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dahl Funeral Home in Cedar Falls for Leo Billman. Mr. Billman died of a coronary condition early Monday morning in Florence, Alabama. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery south of Dike.

Leo Billman was born Aug. 24, 1894 at Reinbeck, the son of Fred and Marion Billman. He was married to Margaret Tallman on March 17, 1915. They farmed in Grundy, Butler and Floyd counties till her death in 1927. He then worked for a time at the John Deere Tractor Works, Waterloo, and did farm work in the Dike area until he moved from the vicinity about 1944. He has lived the past 12 years in Florence, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and two sons. Survivors include a son, Dr. C. J. Billman of Tallahassee, Fla. and three daughters, Mrs. Marion Grace Bocock of Tallahassee, Fla.; Vivian and Virginia of Woodward, Ia. and Mrs. Otto Garessle of Stratford, Conn.; one brother, Tony, of Cedar Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Hurlbutt of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Stanley Graham of Parkersburg and Mrs. Wm. Elftman of Waterloo; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
