Services Friday For Lewis Abels

Lewis D. Abels passed away Tuesday at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, following an illness of almost three years.

He was born July 24, 1914, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Abels, in Colfax township, Grundy county.

He attended rural school, and in 1934 he started in the general trucking business. For a number of years he also operated a corn sheller.

Several years ago he purchased Louie's Recreation Parlor in Grundy Center. In 1942 he moved to Grundy Center with his parents. His father died in October 1946.

He is survived by his mother, two brothers and one sister: Jacob of Holland, Harold of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Lee DeNeui of Wellsburg.

Services will be Friday, July 24, 1:30 p.m. at the Bethany Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Colfax cemetery.
