LeRoy Purvis Dies in Cedar Falls

Leroy Purvis, 72, passed away Monday 10:40 p.m. at Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls, where he had been a patient since last Friday. Cause of death was asthma and a heart condition.

Mr. Purvis had lived in Cedar Falls since leaving Grundy Center in 1942.

He served on the Grundy Center police force several years. He was employed by the Viking Pump company in Cedar Falls and retired 6 years ago.

Mr. Purvis was born Feb. 1, 1892, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Malden and Margaret Purvis. He first married Johanna Stumberg, who died about 1935, and then married Faye Reinhart, Oct. 4, 1947, in Cedar Falls.

The funeral will be held Thursday 2:00 p.m. at the Dall Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery. Rev. John W. Pederson will officiate.

Mr. Purvis is survived by his wife, two children, Donald Purvis, Wellsburg, and Mrs. Alvin Ohrt of Dinsdale, and one sister, Mrs. Clarence Albright, Grundy Center.
