Harry L. Byrnes Dies In Waterloo
Harry L. Byrnes died at Schoitz hospital in Waterloo on Tuesday of last week following a heart attack. Services were held Friday in the First Congregational church in Reinbeck. He was 56 years old.
He was born July 16, 1908, at Reinbeck, the son of Wilbur and Diana Harris Byrnes.
He married Edith Frahm on March 14, 1928, at Reinbeck. He was employed by the Iowa Public Service Co. since returning from the armed services in 1946. He served in the China, Burma and India theater in World War II.
Mr. and Mrs. Byrnes have made their home in Waterloo since 1940.
Surviving are his wife at home; three sisters, Mrs. Al Viken of Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Harold Groenwald of Lime Springs; Mrs. Geo. Benway of Denver, Colo.; four brothers, Peter of Reinbeck; Edwin of Devils Lake, N.D.; Wendell of Grundy Center; and Lawrence of Waterloo.
He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Byrnes of Dike. He was preceded in death by one son in infancy and by one brother.
