Services Wednesday for S. Hermansen

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fredsville Lutheran church for Sophus Hermansen, 76, Cedar Falls.

Mr. Hermansen died of complications following a stroke at 6:30 a.m. Monday in the Sartori hospital.

Rev. Harald Sorensen officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hermansen was born Nov. 19, 1887, in Stedstrup, Denmark. He came to the United States in 1906, returning to Denmark to marry Marie Christiansen Sept. 24, 1916, in Copenhagen.

He farmed in the Cedar Falls area most of his life, retiring in 1941. He was a member of the Fredsville Lutheran.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Stanley, Cedar Falls, four daughters, (Helen) Mrs. Ernest Jensen, Dike; (Elsie) Mrs. Bernard Gehrke, (Mildred) Mrs. John Arends both of Cedar Falls; and (Gladys) Mrs. Irven Jungling of Waterloo, and 10 grandchildren and a brother and three sisters in Denmark.
