Mrs. Johanna Meints Dies Here Saturday At Age of 85 Years

Mrs. Johanna Meints, 85, died Saturday evening at the home of her son, Johannes Meints Saturday evening, following a long illness.

Mrs. Meints, whose maiden name was Johanna Cobie, was born June 1, 1869, and was married March 25, 1891 to Menno Meints, who died November 15, 1950. The couple farmed near Ackley until 34 years ago when they moved into town.

Surviving Mrs. Meints are two sons, Johannes and Charles, both of Ackley; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Henry, Charles and Johannes Cobie, all of Ackley.

Funeral services were held at the Eastfriesland church Tuesday afternoon, following prayer services at the home. The Rev. Calvin E. Siemsen conducted the services. Burial was in the church cemetery.
