Obituary of John Arends

John Arends, son of Eppe and Bessie Arends, was born in Bear Grove on January 2, 1899, and died in his home at 1 p.m. October 27, 1953.

He was united in marriage to Helen Boyenga on February 24, 1933 and they lived on a farm south of Ackley until December 14, 1951, when they moved into the town of Ackley.

Mr. Arends was preceded in death by his parents; by one brother Fred, and one sister, Flossie.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; three brothers, Jerry, Henry and Siebe, all of Ackley; one sister, Anna Beilke of Waterloo.

The Rev. Frank Kroll officiated at funeral services which were held Friday at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church.

Burial was in the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church cemetery.
