Funeral Services Held Friday for Mrs. Otta Tjaden

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Woodrow Lindaman home and later in the Wellsburg Reformed Church for Mrs. Otta Tjaden, 66, who died suddenly on the preceding Tuesday night at the Lindaman home.

Interment was in the Reformed Church cemetery, with Rev. George C. Poppen in charge.

Casket bearers were Neil Hoekstra, Thomas Hoekstra, Wendell Hoekstra, Richard Claassen, Virgil Claassen, and Thomas Claassen.

Flower attendants were Bertha Doyen and Mrs. Herman Haack. Music was provided by soloist Mrs. Royce Tack. Organist was Miss Marcella Neessen.

Attending the funeral from out of town were persons from Sioux Falls, Chancellor, Bridgewater, Lennox, Tea and Hurley, S.D., Worthington, Minn.; Aplington, Ackley, Iowa Falls, Eldora, Steamboat Rock, Grundy Center, Waterloo, Mason City, Ames, Davenport, Allendorf, Rock Rapids, Marshalltown, Buckeye, Des Moines, and a granddaughter from Albany, N.Y.

Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth Tjaden was born on October 17, 1889 of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Akkerman near Wellsburg, Iowa. Here she spent the early part of her life. She attended the local district school. On January 8, 1908 she was married to Otta Tjaden, and spent all of her life around Wellsburg on a farm and later moving to town. This home was blessed with two children, John who now lives in Waterloo and Luella, wife of Woodrow Lindaman of Wellsburg.

Mrs. Tjaden was baptized in the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church by Rev. Vander Las and was also a member of the Dorcas society of the Reformed Church of Wellsburg.

She leaves to mourn, her husband Otta, her two children, John of Waterloo, Luella of Wellsburg, three grandchildren, Robert of Waterloo, Gordon, who is in the armed forces in Germany, Lila Le Mauri nee Lindaman of Albany, New York; two sisters, Miss Tillie Akkerman, Mrs. Ben Hoekstra, both of Wellsburg; one brother, Thomas Akkerman, Jr. of Mason City, and one great-granddaughter Diane Sue Tjaden, born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tjaden one day after her death.
