Nine Month Old Child Strangled By Crib Railing

Dennis Raymond Bethel, nine-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bethel, Jr. of Melrose township, died of accidental asphyxiation Saturday afternoon at the Bethel farm home south of Wellsburg.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wellsburg Reformed Church with Rev. George Poppen in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Casketbearers were Herman Okones, Harold Fischer, Douglas Geerdes and Kenneth Adams. Soloist was Norma Murra, accompanied by Marcella Neessen.

Obituary
Dennis Raymond Bethel was born Dec. 13, 1954 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital and died about 4 p.m. Saturday in a freak accident.

The boy was strangled to death when he tried to slip out of an infant crib and his neck became wedged in the railing.

Survivors include the parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bethel, Sr., of Walker, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Pearson, LaPorte, Minn.
