Henry Lutterman, Lifetime Resident, Dies From Cancer
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the home and later in the Wellsburg Reformed church for Henry Lutterman, 79, who died at 7:15 a.m. Friday in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.
Burial was in the church cemetery beside his wife. Rev. George C. Poppen was in charge of the service.
Mr. Lutterman's death was caused by cancer, although he had suffered from leukemia. He had been a patient at the hospital 16 days prior to his death, and had been confined to the hospital several times during the past year.
Obituary
Henry Lutterman was born Dec. 24, 1875, in Shiloh township, the son of Jurgen and Geske Lutterman. He was 79 years, 11 months and 29 days old at the time of his passing.Mr. Lutterman was a lifelong resident of Shiloh township. He was educated in the public schools of the community, and had served its churches, schools and government in a sincere, civic minded way.
Annie Siebrandts and Henry Lutterman were united in marriage on Apr. 9, 1908.
The couple became members of the Wellsburg Reformed church on May 21, 1922.
Surviving are three daughters and a son, Mrs. Louis Ulferts of Portage, Wis.; Mrs. Henry Ascher, Wellsburg; Mrs. Merle Johns, Ackley; and Herbert, who made his home with his father on the family farm two miles south of Wellsburg.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother: Mrs. H. T. Neessen of Pharr, Texas; Mrs. Tillie Schwager, Blue Earth, Minn.; and Dr. Eldridge Lutterman, Antioch, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away on Apr. 6, 1952, six brothers, two sisters and his parents.
