Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Sarah Lutterman

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Lutterman were held Monday, Aug. 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. Edward Jurgens of Allison was officiating clergyman. Mrs. Woodrow Lindaman and Luella Beving sang two duet numbers. Marcella Neessen was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Harley Freese and Mrs. Minnie Schmidt. Pall bearers were Robert Willems, James Willems, Gerald Willems, Shelby Luwe, Boyd Meyer and Arnold Nederhoff. Interment was made in the Reformed Church cemetery.

Mrs. Lutterman passed away around 1 o'clock Friday evening, Aug. 9, at the Eldora Community Hospital due to a heart condition. She had been taken to the hospital on Aug. 5th for treatment. She reached the age of 65 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Sarah was born on Aug. 10, 1908, on a farm in Grundy county northwest of Wellsburg, the daughter of Gerhard and Antje (Roscamp) Willems. She attended the rural school in the area. On March 28, 1934 she was united in marriage to Jerry J. Lutterman at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian Church parsonage by the Rev. F. Engelke. Following their marriage they made their home on the Lutterman home place farm southeast of Wellsburg. Her husband passed away May 2, 1969. In the fall of 1969 she moved to Wellsburg.

She was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church, having become a member by transfer on Dec. 9, 1938.

Those who preceded her were: her parents, one sister, three brothers and one brother in infancy.

She is survived by four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Maggie Beving of Wellsburg, (Hattie) Mrs. Louie Schultz of Ackley; (Lucy) Mrs. John W. Ross of Wellsburg, Mrs. Annie Jutting of Ackley, George Willems of Ackley, Jake Willems of Ackley and many nieces and nephews.
