Mrs. C. Harrenstein Died Sat., Rites Held Here Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Claus Harrenstein were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral home and later at St. Paul's Evangelical Luth. church, with Rev. Peter Larson in charge.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Harrenstein, 76, died Saturday at the Eldora Memorial hospital. She had made her home in an Eldora nursing home since June, 1960.

Casketbearers were Alvin G. Harrenstein, Herman B. Harrenstein, Vernon Meints, Henry Hippen, Arthur L. Schultz and Edwin Gronewold.

Special music for the service was provided by the church choir. Mrs. Frank Meyeraan Jr. was organist.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Bernard Stahl and Mrs. Florence Lindaman.

Obituary
We are gathered to honor the memory of Mrs. Helena Harrenstein who was taken from this life at Eldora Memorial hospital Saturday, October 27, 1962.

Mrs. Harrenstein was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Meints on April 13, 1886 near Ackley. She reached the age of 76 years, 6 months and 14 days.

She received her education in a rural school near Ackley. On February 26, 1909, she married John Brower. Mr. Brower passed away in 1916. On May 7, 1919, she married Claus Harrenstein. They made their home on a farm northeast of Wellsburg. In the fall of 1951 they moved to Wellsburg. Since June, 1960, because of illness, Mrs. Harrenstein has been living in nursing homes in Eldora.

Mrs. Harrenstein attended St. Paul's Lutheran church. Burial services were held at St. Paul's Ev. Luth. church and interment was in the St. Paul's Ev. Luth. church cemetery.

Mrs. Harrenstein is survived by her step-daughter, Emma, Mrs. Harry Williams, Steamboat Rock; a foster daughter, Louise, Mrs. George Thoren, Grundy Center; a brother, Jacob Meints, Grundy Center; sisters, Reka, Mrs. Joe Eygabroad, Wellsburg, Margaret, Mrs. Bert Harrenstein, Wellsburg. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harrenstein was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, her second husband, a sister and a granddaughter.
