Old Wellsburg Resident Dead

Mrs. Henry Ascher died at the home of her son, Henry, in Shiloh township yesterday. Old age was the cause. She was past eighty. She was a long time resident of Grundy county. Her husband died many years ago. Funeral arrangements have not been completed as this is written.

Mrs. Christina Ascher, mention of whose death was made in the last issue of The Register, was born in Germany eighty-four years ago. She lived for a short time in Illinois, after which she came to this county with her family. That was 46 years ago. Since the death of her husband she has been making her home with her son, Henry, where she died.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the home and later at the Lutheran church in Shiloh township with Rev. Heinrichs officiating.

Mrs. Ascher is survived by two sons and four daughters. The sons are August and Henry of this county. The daughters are Mrs. Wessel Jutting of Buffalo Center; Mrs. Henry Olthoff, of this county; Mrs. James Dekker, of Elrod, S.D., and Mrs. Omke Harrenstein, of Greene, Iowa.
