Mrs. Claas Miller Dead
Mrs. Claas Miller, living two miles west of Fern, died at her home Sunday morning. She suffered most of the past year from cancer. Funeral services were held at the Heinrichs Lutheran church in Shiloh township. Interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery adjoining that church.
Mrs. Miller was about 70 years old. She lived the greater portion of her life in Grundy county and had resided on the farm west of Fern the past thirty years. Her husband died about seven years ago.
Mrs. Miller is survived by six children, four sons and two daughters. The sons are Jake, Claas, Heye and Jell. The daughters are Mrs. Henry DeVries and Sarah, who has been living at home.

Gretje Muller, nee Olthoff, was born at Holte, Ostfriesland, Germany, Oct. 21, 1854. When 16 years of age she came to Grundy county, Iowa, and was united in marriage to Klaas Muller Nov. 15, 1879. This union was blessed with four sons and three daughters. One daughter died in infancy and the husband and father died May 4, 1911.
Mrs. Muller had a lingering disease and patiently suffered, trusting the Lord and was willing to go and be relieved. She passed away peacefully June 22, 1924.
Six children, one son-in-law and four daughters-in-law, seventeen grandchildren and two sisters mourn her loss.
Mrs. Muller united with the Lutheran denomination and the funeral services were held in the St. Paul Lutheran church in Shiloh township June 25th, at 2 p.m. Revs. Heinrich and Siemsen officiating.
